Funeral beat

To Earthward - Robert Frost

Love at the lips was touch
As sweet as I could bear;
And once that seemed too much;
I lived on air

That crossed me from sweet things,
The flow of - was it musk
From hidden grapevine springs
Down hill at dusk?

I had the swirl and ache
From sprays of honeysuckle
That when they're gathered shake
Dew on the knuckle.

I craved strong sweets, but those
Seemed strong when I was young;
The petal of the rose
It was that stung.

Now no joy but lacks salt
That is not dashed with pain
And weariness and fault;
I crave the stain

Of tears, the aftermark
Of almost too much love,
The sweet of bitter bark
And burning clove.

When stiff and sore and scarred
I take away my hand
From leaning on it hard
In grass and sand,

The hurt is not enough:
I long for weight and strength
To feel the earth as rough
To all my length.

Weekend DIY

February 19, 2012

What do you need?

- An egg
- A bowl
- A bigger or a knitting needle
- Tempera paint and a brush
- Paper and pen
- Little box

How to make it?

~ Make a hole on the egg with the needle, pour it's content in a bowl and color it with tempera paint the way you want to. Than write a message on a little piece of paper and roll it, stuck it inside the little hole you made before and put the egg in a box. Now give it to someone and once it brakes, he/she will see the message! ~

Take me away, tall blond stranger.

February 15, 2012

Dreaming of the stranger, who brings me to the warmest fields in the coldest winter and holds me with his wide arms. 6 feet tall, dark blond hair, shaved both sides, brown eyed baby. Soft lips and a cigarette between his fingers. He's driving a 1957's Chevy in Navy blue. And our song is on the radio. Like it was created for two strangers... I only know his name and that's all I need to know. But do names matter? I will never know enough about him... Isn't that the spark that we all need to keep our fire burning forever? "I'm coming" - a long kiss on his whiskey mouth. But he's a good boy. He brings the world in my feet, anytime I want it.
I don't like blond guys, but I like him. I hate smoking, but I smoke his cigarettes. Quarrels are not in my taste, but I can quarrel with him all day.
Blew the smoke of his cigarette trough the window. And than we go, nowhere and forward...

"I was a heavy heart to carry,
my feet dragged across gound
and he took me to the river,
where he slowly let me drown"

Tea degustation & other stories

February 12, 2012

"Each cup of tea represents an imaginary voyage." - Catherine Douzel

Yesterday me and my friend went to our first tea-degustation and came back home, charmed enough to plan the next tea event we'll be going to. It was more than euphoria of the senses, for such a tea lover as me... The cafe was crowded the moment we got there and after few minutes of orders, noise and wiggle we were submerged in silence, in order to listen to the great world history of tea. After some interesting tea-facts we were offered 8 different types of tea (there was one we didn't managed to try with coconut and pineapple)... I'm posting photos of the great two-hour event, held by the owners of a successful tea business, connection between Germany and Bulgaria - a husband(he was the one from Germany) and wife, sharing an unique interest and teaching other people about it.
For those two hours we were immersed in the refined tea world of the English queen, touched all kinds of different cultures and were brought to the most peaceful and plesent atmosphere of flavors, colors and odors...

This was the view of the tea presentation from our places
This was the table with the boiled tea, cookies, sugar and the packed tea for sale
White tea
~ The first tea we drank was the white one. Not only it smelled like spring and sweet corn, but it was the best tea I've treid in my life so far(and they're many). I strongly recommend it! ~

Weekend DIY

February 11, 2012

What do you need?

- Two larger flat buttons
- Piece of lace
- Two earring screws

How to make it?

~ Wrap the lace piece on the button, put a bit of hot silicone and press it with the screw for few seconds. ~

A quick Weekend DIY to fill your time with! (I'm going to post something creative for you every weekend) As you see, I just made a new design, I think it looks satisfying. Tomorrow is our tea-testing, so I hope I make some nice photos out of it... Yesterday I went to my hairdresser and got a new hairdo and tomorrow I'm going to finally dye it. My hair dye is called "Frosty Frappuccino", so I'm hoping for some nice results. Otherwise I bought a really lovely Essence lipliner, color 07 CUTE PINK. I recommend you doing little things to change your appearance, such as new hair cut or a new accessory, it might be something small, but it always makes you feel better!

And how's your weekend so far? :)

And if you're homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold it

February 5, 2012

Oh, I want summer! I want an early summer at New York in the 60's...
As it's still too cold and snowy in here, it even decided to rain today... It became foggy and windy, but I was dreaming and watching outside the window from my cosy bed. Getting up early is not really my thing, but if they show "Breakfast at Tiffany's" on TV only once a year, getting up early becomes a ritual. While I was drinking my cup of hot coffee and enjoying the movie, I couldn't help it but think how much Audrey Hepburn's character (Holly Golightly) represents me. My temper, my moods, my habits, my way of thinking and seeing the world... The way Audrey puts the exact amounts of clumsyness, naivety and charm in her role always fascinates me. Later I also watched "Roman vacation" for the second time... I recommend them both, especially if you love old movies like me! By lunch time, after my mandatory cup of tea for the day, something quite strange happened when I heard my mom yelling "A dog! A samoyed!" by looking at the yard outside the bilding (in here I should mention that samoyeds are the most amazingly adorable creatures on Earth and my favorite breed), so I was completely shocked when I saw the huge, fluffy white thing, running in the yard all alone. I kept looking at it and calling it from the window, wondering how a lost dog of my favorite breed shows up right in my yard, infront of my home?! I wasted few minutes looking for my camera (unsuccsessfully) and putting my boots on to go outside, but until I was able to, the dog escaped and I ended up running around the whole building, in order to catch it, but I lost it of my sight and never saw it again... I kept looking trough the window the whole day, but the samoyed never showed up again and I never even managed to touch it or take a photo. :/ Wasn't that strange? Or I'm going crazy. Well, at least I made a nice discovery later on! A music discovery. Just a random Youtube video, of an artist named Birdy (UK singer), which amazed me a lot. I was even more surprised that the girl is only 15 years old! Than I heard few more songs by her and liked them all, actually. The music's kinda melancholic, but not sad, the melody is beautiful and the lyrics are quite meaningfull. Her first album was released November 2011, so you may call her a completely new, but very talanted performer...

"People help the people"

6570 moons

February 4, 2012

Ever heard of a library team? Yeah, I know it sounds strange. But imagine something like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, spending their whole day in a school library, instead of the “Central Park” café. 8 (completely different) people. Five girls, three boys. Sharing every single minute together, for three years now. Listening to music, talking, fighting, laughing, arguing, dating, splitting, smiling, reading, writing, helping each other, sharing, eating, singing, solving problems, missing, crying, dancing, drinking tea, loving, dreaming… All together. I came to a high school I hated 3 years ago and never thought for a moment that I’ll meet these people and they will become such a big part of my life. We had some of our best moments, memories and adventures (and continue to have them), in this library, that we can call a home… And the greatest stories to tell.

Hello big world' said the little girl.

February 2, 2012

Dear reader,

it's a pleasure to see you here. My name is Preslava (Press) and I'm a student from Bulgaria. I created this blog to post my favorite things and share them with the world, because I think all inspirations should be shared. So you may find stuff about music and all kinds of art, photography (in which I'm very interested), fashion and make up, food and recipes, vintage things, fairy tales, inspirational things, past, present and future, events and places, people and all kinds of "short stories long"... (Also how I spend some of my days, things about my outfits and friends, interviews with interesting people etc.) If you have some time for a bedtime story, than sit and listen to me.
Hope you enjoy it! x

- Flare
1. to burn with an unsteady, swaying flame, as a torch or candle in the wind.
2. to blaze with a sudden burst of flame
3. to start up or burst out in sudden, fierce activity, passion, etc.
4. to shine or glow.

Funny enough I've never held a flare in my hands, because since I was a kid I was always afraid that it will somehow burn me! But I'm planning on being "brave enough" to do it any time soon, because it'll be like an overcoming of my fear... For me a "flare catcher" is not only a person who overcomes the fears, but a person who always reaches for the light at the end of the tunnel and follows his dreams, no matter what.
