Salvador and Gala Dali - A bizarre love story

June 13, 2012

Salvador Dali and Gala are one of the most impressive, lavish, bizarre and most special tandem among lovers of all time. They are not only dedicated to their love as poets and kings of antiquity, but emotionally generous, self-willed and dedicated to eachother.
Elena Ivanovna Dyakonova, called from Dali Gala, was born in Russia in August 1984. In 1915 she married the French poet Paul Eluard and entered the post-war social life, becoming one of the muses of the French capital.
1929 is memorable for her, because then she meets the 1904 born Salvador Dali in the Spanish Pyrenees. He was captured by the challenging Russian woman and when he finally dares to explain his love, she says: "Don't you realize that we'll never be apart again?"
Because of his love for Gala, he terminated the relationship with his family and his father cursed him. Since then, Gala and Dali are always together until the end of his days. She introduces him to the artistic elite of Paris, and he defines her as his muse, lover, mother, confidante. It is claimed that Gala had a huge enigmatic power over Slavador. In addition to a large ectent she is precisely the reason for his incredible popularity worldwide and their big wealth thanks to his art.
In 1948 the couple gave to the Vatican a canvas and legalized their relationship with God. In Spain at that time, Franco was in power and Gala instisted on good relations with both Church and Franco. Then began their most successful period - from 1948 ro 1978 Gala and Slavador Dali are surrounded by luxury and lead a secular life around the world. Among their friends were were Greta Garbo, Federico Garcia Lorca, Pablo Pisako, Walt Disney.
Gala died on june 10, 1982 and was embalmed and buried in the crypt of the Púbol castle, which was a gift from Salvador for her. He was devastated, but lived another six years. At their house in Port League, in a crack on the wall soon after his death they found a note from Gala, which is testament of the unknown to the society kind of love and complete devotion to the artist: "Let him do well and still be a great artist, as I always wanted him to be. Let me stay always beautiful."

This is the bonus post to this one, I was talking about. This time I decided to entertain your daylights with the short and quite interesting love story of one of the most famous artists of 20th century. I actually took the info from an unknown Bulgarian source and translated it, cuz it's quite hard to find something on the intertent about both Salvador and Gala's life. So the credits go there! And since I love art a lot and am interested of all it's aspects, I was pretty pleased to fill up my mind with some new art history information... Feel free to follow! :)

My Weeky Playlist

June 12, 2012

Jay Z ft. Kanye West - No church in the wild

Alex Clare - Too close

Context - Drowning

Adam Lambert - Never close our eyes

Purity Ring - Belispeak

Tulisa - Young

Marina & The Diamonds - Power and control

Kanye West ft. Bon Iver - Lost in the world

Those are the lovely all-new songs I've been listening to this week! As you see I'm all about dubstep elements, house music, Kanye West and girl-power. The songs are pretty different from eachother, but hey - they all sound great enough to be a part of my new Weeky Playlist... I know it's been a while (sorry), but I promise a new post tomorrow! It's gonna be a busy week - I have a symphony concert to visit and a meeting with one of Bulgaria's greatest piano players, with his own Karate school, probably plan another picnic, start getting fit by visiting the gym more often, make some exciting new interviews and... Blog about all that!

See you soon

Just in case you hadn't had enough of me and Miley

The Universe tried hard to prove me that no matter what I do, if it's meant to be, it'll happen. A while ago I came with this great idea (inspired by this lovely post from HEYLOOK) for the perfect picnic with friends. Than again last week was a total disaster and of course nothing went as planned... One of the boys just left, the other didn't understood anything about the whole idea at the end, some people didn't had money and other simply decided they're too busy and dumped us - I ended up with two people and not enough money, as if on purpose it started raining and I ended up miserable and mad. So the idea was totally dumped. Until this weekend. The gang happened to be together again on Saturday - for an assemblage with the library club, and after some team versification and poetry writing, we decided we should try the "picnic idea" again after all, gathered the people who were able to come, split up and allocated the shopping & cooking obligations... After two hours of mad food shopping and cooking secretly at my friend's grandparents house, shooting a self-made parody of culinary show, yelling and laughing like crazy, we caught up with all of it and ended up too late with the time we had, so the other people who were meant to come misunderstood the new meeting place and time we arranged, and after half an hour of going around town and looking for eachother, we didn't found them so prevented by circumstances, we decided to drop it and go by ourselves. At the end of it all, after a forgotten bottle of champagne and an exhausting hill-climbing we layed our orange blanket under a big tree, raised glasses and enjoyed lots of delicious food and bright sunshine.... "The Fate decided it should happen this way and it should be only the three of us..." my friend said. And she was right.
Although it wasn't just as planned and we weren't many people, it was just PERFECT. Because nothing planned is made to be good and all spontaneous things are better.

Cheers to the perfect picnics!

Artist of the month : Surreal Galaxy

June 4, 2012

Due to laziness and unknown circumstances I forgot last month's "Artist of the month", for which I'm terribly sorry. In order to make it up, I'll make a bonus post to this one, including a quite interesting love story about one of the most famous painters of 20th Century!
This month I present you an amazing artist with incredibly wild and "sparkling" talant for making art... Fab Ciraolo.

He's an illustrator from Santiago, Chile, famous for his surrealistic, sparkling, galaxy-like paintings of (mainly) world-famous, influential people, cracked trough his fantasy in a way you've never seen them before! Sadly, there's not much information about him so just enjoy his unique art...
